Dear Families,
Welcome to Woodland School. Woodland School was established as a Transitional Education Program in East Hartford more than 30 years ago. Currently, Woodland School provides services for over 150 students with varying disabilities. We pride ourselves in providing a safe and supportive environment for students that have social, emotional and behavioral needs. At Woodland, we are student focused. Our goal is to help our students REACH their goals and realize their fullest potential.
Woodland School works with many surrounding districts to provide specialized instruction for students with Individualized Education Programs. Typically, the students at Woodland have been identified with Autism, OHI-ADD/ADHD or an Emotional Disability. Programs are individually designed for each and every student. Our clinical team, which includes two school psychologists, two social workers and a BCBA, collaborate with special education teachers and behavior managers to ensure that student plans are implemented with fidelity.
If you are interested in sending your student to Woodland, please reach out to your home district for a referral. We would be happy to have any student that is in need of the services that Woodland provides. For general questions, please feel free to contact us at 860 622-5900.
Sincerely
Licia McKnight
Principal
